Biography: Amal Ghosh was born in 1933 in Calcutta, India. After studying at Calcutta’s Government College of Art and Craft, he went on to study a postgraduate at London’s Central School of Art & Design upon moving to Britain in the ‘60s. He would later go on to receive an MA from Calcutta University in 1972 as well as another postgraduate in Art Therapy from the Hertfordshire College of Art, St Albans in 1982.
He began teaching at Central School (later Central St Martins) in 1969, and became head of Transparent Imagery.
He set up an enamel department at the Visa Bharati University, Santiniketan, where he is a Visiting Professor.
He has had more than thirty one person shows of his work in Europe, Asia and the USA.
His work is held in the following public collections:
